The Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global is on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time and on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. You can participate in this event from anywhere in the world where playing Pokémon GO is allowed. Be informed and get ready for a fun-filled weekend.
Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global Featured Pokémon
The following are the main features of the Global GO Fest 2026.
- Mega Mewtwo X
- Mega Mewtwo Y
- Zeraora
- Costumed Pikachu
For the first time in its history, the GO Fest 2026: Global is FREE for all Trainers who log in during the event weekend. All these Trainers will get the Special Research, additional bonuses, and an increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon at no cost.
Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Mewtwo X and Y
Mewtwo will be able to mega-evolve into any of these mega evolutions. You will be able to get different Mewtwo Mega Energy for Mega Mewtwo X and different Mewtwo Mega Energy for Mega Mewtwo Y. The Energy is what is needed to mega-evolve Mewtwo to either of its temporary forms.
You can get these energies by defeating Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y in Super Mega Raids.
- Mega Mewtwo X will be available to battle on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
- Mega Mewtwo Y will be available to battle on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
You will need 7,500 Mega Energy for the first-time evolution and then 150 Mega Energy for subsequent mega-evolutions to make either a Max Level Mega Mewtwo. You will then need an additional 5,000 Mega Energy to get a Super Mega Mewtwo X or Super Mega Mewtwo Y.
The Mega Energy cap for Mewtwo is 50,000 Mega Energy. You can also walk a Mewtwo you have Mega-evolved to get 100 Mega Energy whenever you get candy from walking Mewtwo.
Trainers will be getting a huge amount of Mega Energy for each Mega Mewtwo defeated. Additionally, as a special bonus during Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global, every Mewtwo caught as an encounter after defeating Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y will have at least one (i.e., Base Level) of its Mega Level already unlocked. If you are lucky, you may get one with its Mega Level 2 (High Level) or Mega Level 3 (Max Level) already unlocked.
This means each Mega Mewtwo can be Mega Evolved without the initial energy cost. If you are lucky, you may not need Mega Energy to get a Mega Level 3 Mega Mewtwo.
Additionally, Mewtwo caught from Super Mega Raids will be more likely to have high Attack, Defense, and HP.
Zeraora
Trainers will be able to complete a Special Research to encounter Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokémon. Trainers who log into the game during the GO Fest 2026: Global event weekend will receive this Special Research. The research will reward an encounter with Zeraora.
However, Trainers who had already attended any In-Person Pokémon GO Fest and have encountered Zeraora will get Zeraora Candy instead.
Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Costumed Pikachu
Pikachu wearing either Team Instinct Hat, Team Mystic Hat, or Team Valor Hat will be available in One-Star Raids and in the wild during the global event.
Some other costumed Pokémon will be able to evolve during the event days. These are as follows.
- Bulbasaur wearing a Pikachu visor
- Charmander wearing a Pikachu visor
- Squirtle wearing a Pikachu visor
Pokémon in the wild
During the event, a variety of Pokémon species will be appearing in the wild. These Pokémon will appear during each hour of the event, with a higher chance of encountering different but specific Pokémon types (i.e., the 18 different Pokémon types.

Pokémon GO Fest 2026 Global: Incense Encounters
All forms of Unown, Tropius, and Bouffalant will be attracted to Incense during the event. Please note that this excludes the Daily Adventure Incense.
Event Research
- Timed Research: A new Timed Research experience will be available for all Trainers.
- Field Research: will refresh every hour.
Pokémon GO Fest 2026 Global: Event Bonus
Bonuses will be available for all Trainers, but at different starting and ending periods. These are as follows.
- 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. local time.
- Up to nine free Raid Passes per day by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms
- Up to six Special Trades.
- ½ Stardust cost for all trades.
- Open up to 50 Gifts each day.
- 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time.
- Increased appearances of Pokémon-type featured during each time block.
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for one hour.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) will attract special Pokémon.
- Party Play will be active for nine hours
- Increased chance of encountering Shiny Pokémon
- Special Research, including an encounter with Zeraora
- Branching Timed Research with a choice between Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y.
- Global Challenges to unlock additional bonuses and Ultra Unlock events.
- Themed Field Research every hour for different Pokémon types.
