Flittle and its Evolution, Espathra, will make their debut in Pokémon GO during the May 2026 Spring Marathon event. These Pokémon were originally discovered in the Paldea Region (i.e., Generation 9) with PokéDex numbers 955 and 956.
The May 2026 Spring Marathon event is from Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, May 18, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

Flittle and its Evolution, Espathra
You can use 50 Flittle Candy to evolve Flittle into Espathra. The table below shows the major information about these Pokémon.

Additionally, Pikachu wearing a marathon visor will make its debut in Pokémon as a new costumed Pokémon. This is in addition to the several costumed Pikachu already in Pokémon GO.
Pikachu can be shiny. However, Flittle and Espathra cannot currently.
Spring Marathon Event Bonus
The bonuses for this event are tied to the GO Pass: Spring Marathon 2026.
All Trainers will receive the free part of the GO Pass from Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time. The Pass tasks and its accompayning rewards will be available until Monday, May 18, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The paid part of the GO Pass i.e., GO Pass Deluxe will also be available in Pokémon GO during these times.

Other activities planned for Spring Marathon Event
The following will be available during the event.
- Pichu wearing a flower crown, Togepi wearing a flower crown, Happiny wearing a flower crown, and Flittle will hatch from the 5km Eggs received during the event. All can be shiny except Flittle.

- Complete Field Research tasks to earn encounters with event-themed Pokemon, including Eevee adorned with cherry blossoms, Buneary wearing a flower crown, and more.
- There will be a free Timed Research opportunity available. The free Timed Research reward 21,000 XP and an encounter with Pikachu wearing a marathon visor upon completion.
- Complete GO Pass Tasks to rank up your GO Pass to earn the following rewards.
