The Gible Community Day Classic puts the spotlight back on Gible. If you missed out on previous chances to load up on candy, shiny variants, or high-IV Gible, this upcoming event is your chance to get in the grind.
Whether you are looking to dominate Master League PvP, crush Raid Bosses, or just complete your shiny dex, here is a comprehensive breakdown of everything happening during September 2026’s Gible Community Day Classic.
Gible Community Day Classic Schedule
- Date: Saturday, September 12, 2026
Time: 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time
Gible, the Land Shark Pokémon, will spawn more frequently in the wild. Lucky Trainers may encounter a Shiny Gible or one featuring a Special Background, continuing the 2026 trend where featured Community Day Pokémon can have a yearly Special Background.
Gible Community Day Classic Featured Attack
If you evolve Gabite (Gible’s evolution) into Garchomp from the beginning of the event all the way until September 12, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. local time, your Garchomp will learn the powerful Charged Attack Earth Power. This featured attack deals 90 power in Trainer Battles (PvP) and 100 power in Gyms and Raids (PvE).
Earth Power gives Garchomp critical Ground-type STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) coverage, making it an absolute monster against Steel, Rock, Fire, Electric, and Poison types in both raids and competitive GO Battle League formats. Make sure you also grind Candy XL during the event so you can max out your newly evolved Garchomp before the 9:00 p.m. evolution window ends.
If you enjoy forming competitive teams for the GO Battle League, make sure you secure at least one or two solid Great League IV Garchomp (low Attack, high Defense, and high HP) with this exclusive move. The rank 1 Garchomp for Great League, Ultra League, and Master League has the following IV spread.
- Great League: 0-15-15
- Ultra League: 0-14-13
- Master League: 15-15-15
Gible Community Day Classic event Bonuses
To help you maximize your grinding during the three-hour event window, the following bonuses will be available:
3× XP for Catching Pokémon: An incredible opportunity to stack up experience points and push toward your next level cap.
Extended Incense Duration: Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
Extended Lure Module Duration: Lure Modules will last for an hour and may attract Gible.
Surprise Snapshots: Take a few snapshots during the event window for a fun surprise photo-bomb encounter with Gible.
Extended Lure Module Bonus during Gible Community Day Classic
Even after the main 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. event window closes, the fun doesn’t stop. From 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. local time, regular Lure Modules will receive a massive boost. Gible will have a very high chance of appearing at PokéStops with active regular Lures, meaning you can continue hunting for Shiny variants and Special Backgrounds well into the evening.

Hundo (Shiny) Gible from Research
Field and Special Research will be available during the September 2026 Community Day Classic. A Gible with 477 CP from a Research encounter is a hundo. Likewise, its evolutions, Gabite with 803 CP from a research encounter, is a hundo. Garchomp with 1698 CP from a research encounter is a hundo.
If any of this is shiny, that is a Shundo.
Gible Community Day Classic Tips
The following are the most essential tips to make the best out of this community day classic.
- Mega evolved a Mega Level 3 (or 4) Dragon-type Pokémon: This helps you get additional Candy, Candy XL, and XP when you catch Gible. Examples are Mega Dragonite, Mega Rayquaza, Mega Garchomp, Mega Latios, Mega Latias, Mega Salamence, or Mega Altraria. Check out our guide on what to prepare before the next Pokémon GO Community Days.
- Use Palkia’s Spacial Rend Adventure Effect: This increases your Pokémon spawn catch radius. Helping you see more Gible spawns.
Gible Community Day Classic: A Mega Collection Challenge
An event-themed Collection Challenge will run alongside the festivities. By evolving Gible and Gabite during the event window, you can complete the challenge to earn valuable rewards, including XP, Stardust, and Garchomp Mega Energy. This is vital if you need energy to trigger Garchomp’s Mega Evolution for raid optimization.
