Pikachu Celebration: A Special Pokémon GO 10th Anniversary Event

Catch ’em all during the Pokémon GO Special Anniversary Pikachu Celebration! Discover rare costumed Pikachu in the wild, unlock exclusive GO Pass rewards, and join festive raids from July 13 to July 20, 2026.

The Pikachu Celebration event is designed to extend the Pokémon GO 10th Anniversary celebrations further beyond the stipulated event period. From Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time to Monday, July 20, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, Pokémon GO Trainers can participate in the event in-game.

The Pikachu Celebrations event will be in parts as follows.


Pikachu Celebration

To help you keep track of this multi-part anniversary event, here is a quick breakdown of when each phase goes live:

Part 1: Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

During this event period, certain costumed Pikachu will be featured in the wild and in Field Research tasks.

Part 2: Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

During this event period, certain costumed Pikachu will be featured in the wild and in Field Research tasks. These costumed Pikachu will be different from those from part 1 of the Pikachu celebration.

Part 3: Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, July 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

During this event period, certain costumed Pikachu will be featured in the wild and in Field Research tasks. These costumed Pikachu will be different from those from the previous days of the Pikachu celebration.

More information about which costumed Pikachu will be provided later.


Pikachu Celebration: Wild Encounters, Raids, and Field Research Tasks

Trainers may encounter Pikachu wearing a Tricks & Treats costume, Pikachu wearing a Winter Carnival outfit, Pikachu with summer flair, and more in the wild. If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one.

Event-themed One-Star Raids will feature the following Pokémon.

  • Dapper Pikachu with red accents
  • Dapper Pikachu with yellow accents
  • Dapper Pikachu with blue accents
  • Pikachu wearing a safari hat
  • Pikachu wearing a varsity jacket
  • Pikachu wearing an amethyst crown
  • World Championships 2022 Pikachu
  • World Championships 2023 Pikachu
  • World Championships 2024 Pikachu

Event-themed Field Research tasks will be available to complete. You will encounter event-themed Pokémon after completing the tasks. The following are the Field Research Tasks and their associated rewards.

  • Win 3 Raids
    • Rewards Pikachu wearing a varsity jacket or World Championships 2022 Pikachu, or World Championships 2023 Pikachu, or World Championships 2024 Pikachu.
  • Catch 10 Pikachu
    • Rewards Leaf’s Hat Pikachu, or Lyra’s Hat Pikachu, or May’s Bow Pikachu, or Red’s Hat Pikachu.
  • Catch 15 Pikachu
    • Rewards Meloetta Hat Pikachu

Remember, a perfect Pikachu encountered from Field Research has 402 CP.


Pikachu Celebration Event Bonus

During the event, Pikachu will appear more frequently in the wild and will be easier to catch than normal. However, the event-themed bonuses are attached to the event-themed GO Pass.

You can benefit from more bonuses by reaching major milestones while you progress through the event GO Pass. The bonuses are as follows.

The Tier 2 (Rank 20) bonuses are additions to the Tier 1 (Rank 10) bonuses.

You will need to earn daily GO Pass points to increase your rank on the GO Pass. There will be daily tasks to help earn GO Pass points. Likewise, there will be a weekly task to help earn more GO Pass points. Additionally, there will be bonus tasks for this GO Pass during the event.


GO Pass: Special Anniversary Pikachu Celebration

Trainers will automatically receive GO Pass: Special Anniversary Pikachu Celebration on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

You can collect GO Points and rank up to get additional rewards through Monday, July 20, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time.

For US$4.99*, Trainers can upgrade to the GO Pass Deluxe, a paid version of the GO Pass that offers upgraded rewards and faster progression. For US$6.99*, Trainers can upgrade to the GO Pass Deluxe + 6 Ranks to also automatically earn enough GO Points to reach Rank 7.

While progressing through the GO Pass Deluxe, you’ll be able to claim all of the rewards from both the free GO Pass and GO Pass Deluxe. You can upgrade to a GO Pass Deluxe at any time and still collect rewards from previously unlocked ranks.

Rewards unlocked in the GO Pass will expire on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, so be sure to claim your rewards before they’re gone!

Is the GO Pass Deluxe Worth Buying?

If you are a casual player, the Free GO Pass track gives plenty of value, offering over 150,000 XP and essential encounters just for playing normally.

However, if you are actively grinding to level up the US$4.99 Deluxe Upgrade is highly recommended. The jump to over 350,000 XP combined with the 3× Transfer Candy bonus makes it one of the most resource-efficient passes of the year. If you are short on time, the US$6.99 bundle provides a great head start to bypass the initial daily task grind.
