The Pokémon GO Vanillite Community Day is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Trainers around the world will be able to encounter Vanillite, the Fresh Snow Pokémon more frequently in the wild. Also, Pokémon GO Trainers can encounter Shiny Vanillite with higher odds than normal.
Vanillite Community Day Featured Attack
Trainers can evolve Vanillish (Vanillite’s evolution) during the event and/or up to a week afterward (i.e. until May 4, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. local time) to get a Vanilluxe that knows the Charged Attack Avalanche. Avalanche is an Ice-type attack/move with 90 power in Trainer Battles (PVP) and 85 power in Gyms and raids (PVE) respectively.
Community Day Special Research
For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll be able to access the Vanillite exclusive Special Research. Completing the research will grant you more rewards. These include the following and more.
- Three (3) encounters with Vanillite that have a Might and Mastery-themed Special Background.
- One (1) Premium Battle Pass
- One (1) Rare Candy XL.
- Additional encounters with Vanillite.
Furthermore, Trainers will have access to a Community Day Special Background Timed Research that lasts for a week following the event. The Timed Research rewards additional encounters with Vanillite that have a Might and Mastery-themed Special Background. Plus, you can still evolve Vanillish (Vanillite’s Evolution) during the week following the event to get a Vanilluxe that knows the Charged Attack Avalanche!
Field Research Tasks
There will be Vanillite-themed Field Research tasks available during the event by spinning PokéStop! These tasks will need you to catch Vanillite to earn rewards such as Stardust, Great Balls, additional encounters with Vanillite, and more! If lucky, you may also find Field Research tasks that lead to encounters with Vanillite that have a Might and Mastery–themed Special Background!
Vanillite Community Day Tips
The tips will be based on the event-themed bonuses.
- 3× XP for catching Pokémon.
- To maximize your XP gains, make sure you pop 6 Lucky Eggs at the start of the event. This will cover the 3-hour Community Day time. Then use Palkia’s (Origin forme) Spacial Rend Adventure Effect to extend your wild spawn circle throughout the event. This would help you catch more Vanillite. OR You can pop one Lucky Egg at the start. Then use Dialga’s (Origin forme) Roar of Time Adventure Effect to extend the Lucky Egg duration for an extra 2 hours and 30 minutes.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon and 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- If you need to amass Candy (and Candy XL) for catching Vanillite or other Pokémon that may appear during the Community Day, then you need to make use of this bonus. Try and use a Pinap Berry for every Pokémon you hand-catch during the Community Day. You should also use a Pokémon GO recommended auto-catcher if you have one. It would help you catch more Pokémon. Likewise, you should use a Mega Evolved Ice-type Pokémon during the event. Using a Mega-evolved Pokémon grants you extra Candy per catch. It is recommended that you use a Level 3 Mega Pokémon. This can be either Mega Abomasnow, or Mega Glalie.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
Make use of the following additional bonuses to gain additional points toward in-game medals
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Using Lure Modules helps other Trainers to catch Pokémon. This contributes to your Picknicker medal. You may need a lot of platinum medals in-game to move from one trainer level to another.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- You can take an additional four (4) Buddy Snapshots making a total of five (5). This counts toward your Cameranman medal.
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day and Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
- This bonus will be active on the day of the event and from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. Communicate with your Lucky Friends and schedule your Lucky trades for this period. Also, you can plan with some of your friends to mass-mirror-trade Vanillite after the event. This is recommended if you are looking to get a perfect IV Vanillite or a perfect one for the GO Battle League.
Perfect IV Vanillite
There are many possibilities to find a perfect IV Vanillite in the wild. However, you will need to memorize all the possible Combat Power (CP), which is not possible. What is possible is that you look out for the highest possible CP during a non-weather boosted and a weather boosted condition.
During a non-weather boosted condition, the highest possible CP for Vanillite (at level 30) is 886 CP. During a weather-boosted condition, the highest possible CP for Vanillite (at level 35) is 959 CP. These are the CPs you will see if your Trainer level is 31 and above. Vanillite is boosted during Snow weather in-game. 886 CP and 959 CP are the hundo CPs for a Vanillite found in the wild during their respective weather conditions.
Finally, a Vanillite caught after completing a Field Research Task can be a perfect IV Vanillite. The CP for a perfect IV Vanillite (at level 15) from Field Research is 443 CP. This is the hundo CP for Vanillite caught via Field Research. If you find Vanillite evolution in Field Research, their perfect is either 682 CP for Vanillish or 1209 CP for Vanilluxe.

Please note, there will be PokéStop Showcases at different PokéStops during the Vanillite Community Day. Put your tallest and biggest Vanillite or Vanilluxe in three (3) different showcases to stand a chance to win. If you win or are among the top 5 when the showcase ends, you will earn better in-game resources.
Most importantly, do not play the Community Day alone. This is why it is called a “Community Day”. You can find other Trainers in your area to trade, battle, or join raids with via the Campfire App. I recommend that you join only the events hosted by a Community Ambassador. Joining a Community Ambassador event and checking it at the location of the event will grant you a Community Ambassador-exclusive Timed Research and a point towards the Community Member medal.
