Mega Falinks will make its debut in Pokémon GO from the start of May 2026’s Super Mega Raid Day. Trainers may encounter a Shiny Falinks after defeating Mega Falinks, if lucky. The Super Mega Raid Day is on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
Super Mega Raids
These are not easy raids. They are more difficult than normal Mega Raids. You will want to prepare well for these raids. These mega raids require a minimum of 8 Trainers to be able to defeat the featured Mega Pokémon in the Mega Raids.

Mega Falinks Debut Bonus
During the event, Trainers will receive the following.
- Up to Six (6) free Raid Passes from spinning Gyms.
- Increased chance* of encountering Shiny Falinks from Super Mega Raids
*unreported chance is between 1 in 10 and 1 in 64 Super Mega Raids. However, before the event starts, the Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 20. This is from Friday, May 22, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. PDT.
Where to find Mega Falinks Super Mega Raids
Falinks Super Mega Raids may only appear at certain Gyms. You can easily locate where these raids are by using the Pokémon GO web-based map. You will be able to see the locations where Super Mega Raids might appear and those in progress during an event. Additionally, you should join other Trainers during this event. You will need this since Super Mega Raids are difficult. You can find nearby meetups hosted by Community Ambassadors. Join these meetups via the Niantic Campfire App. Ensure you check-in when you attend so you can get in-game Raid Day research and rewards.
Mega Falinks Recommended Counters
Mega Falinks is a Fighting-type Pokémon. It is weak to Pokémon with Fairy-, Flying-, and Psychic-type attacks. Therefore, the recommended counters are the Best Pokémon Attackers in Pokémon GO with these attacks. They are as follows.

These Pokémon should be at their highest possible IVs and CPs if you are raiding with a minimum of 8 Trainers. If not, consider raiding with at least 10 Trainers. When you end up defeating Falinks in Mega Raids, watch out for the CP of the Falinks you get as an encounter. A Falinks with 1347 CP (non-weather boost) or 1683 CP (weather boost) is a hundo. If Shiny, that’s a shundo. Falinks encounters are boosted during Cloudy weather.

Top 10 Super Mega Raids Tips
Doing the following will help you make the best out of the Super Mega Raid Day. Success depends not only on having the best counters. Coordination is very important.
- Make sure every Trainer uses a Mega Pokémon in the raid. You need at least 8 Mega Pokémon in the raid.
- Don’t use Primal Groudon (or Primal Kyogre) since they cannot be used to break shields during a Super Mega Raid.
- Each Trainer can only break one shield. You cannot win if the shields are not broken.
- Aim for a larger lobby than the minimum of 8 Trainers.
- Put your Mega Pokémon in the last slot of your battle team.
- Use your Mega Pokémon’s charged attack only when the raid boss starts using shields.
- If your Mega Pokémon faints before breaking the shield, go into the raid lobby, revive your Mega Pokémon, and then re-enter the raid immediately.
- If you are remote raiding, ensure that the minimum number of Mega Pokémon in the raid is 8 and that the raid party is at least 10 Trainers.
- Create a saved Battle Party of the six (6) counters you want to use.
- Don’t forget to heal and revive your battle party after each raid.
