For this week’s comparison, we look at two consecutive seven-day periods: Tuesday, September 22 to Monday, September 28, 2026, and Tuesday, September 29 to Monday, October 5, 2026. The goal is simple: see how my gameplay activity changed from one week to the next and identify the areas where the biggest improvements happened.

Pokémon GO Weekly Stats Comparison: Analytical Summary
Exploration and Movement Efficiency
My physical engagement surged significantly. Distance walked increased by +63.11% (rising from 55.3 km to 90.2 km), and PokéStop visits jumped by +46.41% (from 836 to 1,224), indicating a much higher volume of playing outdoors. This surge is a direct result of grinding out the Pokémon GO’s Harvest Festival 2026.
Catching and Collector Highlights
Base catching activity increased solidly with 2,607 Pokémon caught (+19.59%). These high-tier metrics showes exceptional improvement: shiny encounters more than doubled with a +116.67% increase (13 shinies), while perfect IV (hundo) finds improved by +25.00% (5 hundos).
The shinies and hundos are as follows.
- Shiny: 2 traded Kyurem, 3 Smoliv from the wild, 1 Starly from the wild, 1 Shadow Squirtle from Grunt; 1 Foongus from the wild, 1 Oricorio from the wild, 1 Shadow Magikarp from Grunt. 1 Wingull from the wild, 1 traded Dratini, and 1 Galarian Yamask from the wild.
- Hundo: 2 Smoliv (wild and Field Research), 1 Seedot (wild), 1 Applin (Field Research), and 1 Charmander (wild)
Combat & In-Game Engagement
Team GO Rocket battles won saw an astronomical spike of +643.75%, skyrocketing from 32 members defeated to 238. Raid success also jumped by +133.33% (14 wins). Conversely, GO Battle League performance decreased by -40.91% (13 wins down from 22), indicating a strategic shift away from PvP toward PvE and rocket gameplay.
The huge jump in Team GO Rocket battle wins was due to the Harvest Festival 2026: Taken Over. The increase in raid success is basically because I was shiny-hunting Astronaut Pikachu which made its debut during the World Space Week 2026 in Pokémon GO. These events in a way contributed to my less involvment with the GO Battle League.
Quests and Hatching
Field Research completions grew by +47.06% (125 tasks), and egg hatching maintained steady momentum with 34 eggs hatched (+13.33%), including 1 shiny hatch.
The increase in Field Research is a result search for more hundos and shinies from completing the Harvest 2026 event-based Field Research tasks.
Resource Yield
In line with the heavy shift in active gameplay mechanics, Stardust remained exceptionally stable and high at 708,357 (+0.39%), while total XP experienced a massive growth of +48.23%, breaking past the 5 million mark (5,012,814).
📈 What the Weekly Stats Comparison Numbers Tell Us
So, was this actually a better Pokémon GO week?
Looking closely at what the numbers tell us, the answer is a resounding yes, though with a fascinating shift in playstyle. While standard metrics like wild catches and PokéStop spins showed modest movement, the quality and strategic focus of the gameplay completely transformed.
Ultimately, the numbers prove that targeting high-yield events and focusing on active exploration beats mindless grinding every time.
